recommend me a good laptop hd to use with the mpc?

What up cobras!..Your boy is about to get gully wit it and install himself a laptop internal HD....anyone got any recommendations on a good brand and one small enough to fit in my machine?
I've already have a internal atapi zip which is cool, but I wanna take it to the cobra level and add some value to an already awesome machine......

They only come in one size, 2.5". If you are not aware of that already, I would seriously reconsider attempting to do that yourself. Size or the model is not the issue, and thus you are asking the wrong questions.

How are you going to power it?
Where interface does it connect to?
Where are you going to put it?

A 2.5" drive would be small enough to fit. I had a few drives that i used as external storage, they all performed the same but one Toshiba drive i had was making a lot less noise than the other 2.

A normal 3.5" HD uses 12 volts, so i figure a floppydrive also uses that.
A 2.5" HD uses 5 volts.
Your best bet would be to buy a little box that coverts a 2.5" to an external drive. They sometimes come with a small powersupply so you could wire that to where the mpc's power comes in, or just drill a little hole at the back and run the cable trough that to a wallsocket.
A 2.5" hd cable has 44 pins, and a floppy 34 so you'll have to modify that as well. I think you won't find an adapter for this because for pc's, it's pointless to convert from 44 to 34 because you can convert to 40pin (3.5" hd).

In short, i think it can't be done. Even if you could wire it, I'm pretty sure a harddisk simply won't function with only 34 pins connected.
