8-outs from s3000xl or s2000 in MPC2000xl October 2010

I just wanted to make a 2010 update to the status of usinf an alternate 8 out board in your mpc 2000 xl.


I found an 8 out board on ebay for $69
one I got the metal piece cut down to size, I found out the cable was too short.
Doing some research lead me to find out that you need to solder an extension cable.

I am no technician, so I emailed, my friend JD at scsi4samplers, some pictures.
He said he could make an extension cable, and for only $5..


so for less than $80 I installed an 8 out board in my 2000xl.
I am sure it would work on the 2000 classic also.

Is it possible to make an extension cable to extend the 2000 screen to work in a XL?

I'm sure that it is possible but didn't I read something here about the wiring being reversed? If you can send me some pictures of the cabling coming off the S2000 screen, I'll be glad to see if I could do it.

JD, I think the S2000 LCD is different to the MPC. What I meant was the MPC 2000 LCD. With the possibility of making an extension cable to go between the end of the LCD ribbon and to plug into the board.

That is probably doable - could you post a nice clear picture that shows the end of the cable coming from the MPC2000 Classic LCD screen? Or if one has already been posted, post the link to that thread.

jd! im in need of the same cable in the OP i need a cable to extend my ib208p from an s2000 to fit in an mpc2k classic... im also in need of an scsi fuse for my 2k classic any help would be appreciated if i can buy them straight from you let me know im paypal ready...

I'll be happy to try and help you but as I mentioned, I am not familiar with the cable coming from an S2000 LCD screen. You'll need to email me a picture - preferably high-res - of the S2000 screen cable end.

There is an "Email Us" link on the website, over on the left, at the bottom of all the links (in the black area). Please use that to email me the picture and I'll let you know if I can help you.

I'll check into providing a fuse and let you know about that as well.
