EB16 problems... If anyone use it, please HELP!

Well, I finally got EB16 card for my 2000XL and installed it. Seems easy to get it into work, but...
I can not understand how to apply effects. Actually I do like it is written in manuals but no changes with the sound.
For example:
1. shift + mixer > drum 1
2. fx send > choose channel for needed pad and assign M1 in the top
3. fx edit > edit field: multi fx1
4. input: M1 - choosen fx (for example ECHO, then MIX) Both are ON
5. click pad BUT DON'T HEAR ANY CHANGES with the sound((
Can anybody advise me if there are any secrets to apply the effects?? Thanks!

ahh, yeah you gotta make sure the effect on the pad is turned up... (fx mixer maybe?)
