cant hear anything on mpc2000 classic

alright, i just got my mpc2000 today and i cant figure out why i cant hear anything?
i have my disk uploaded and i can see on the screen when i touch the pads that the notes are changing. volume knob is all the way up and nothing. super frustrated...
im sure it's an easy fix i just need a little guidance. #newbie

did you load any samples or record any new samples into the unit?

try hooking up something to the line in (record input) on the back of the unit and go to the sample menu and record a new one.

i loaded one of the discs i got with it. just the akai "funk" set. disk #2.
still nothing.
i will try to hook something up to the line in as soon as i find the right wire. thanks for the suggestions i will get back to you when i try that out

if you just loaded sounds, not a program, you have to assign the sounds to pads in a program.
also, you have to have the correct program selected on the track.

I am coming from a 2kxl but that is basically it, i hope.

You should really read the manual.
