Please help! MPC2000xl wont boot

Trying to update os to 1.20, used the load function - os loaded, the MPC rebooted and now I'm stuck at screen that looks like a bunch of hexadecimal numbers...can't make any sense of anything. When I power off and back on without 1.20 floppy in the drive it asks for floppy, I put it in - looks like its trying to load mpc2xl.bin

Anyone see this before?

I looked at all those, and yea my next step was to contact you to see if you could source a recovery ep-rom.

heh, I am a LONG time MPC user (mpc 60,3000,2000, 2000xl,2500 and 5000) Never felt the need to reach out to the internet community for help - Its nice to know you guys are here to help a brother out!

mQueue was right i was panicked - especially when I couldn't find ANYthing on the site describing what I was seeing...

Anyways, I found a usb floppy drive at 4am this morning - got a fresh copy of the os and reloaded it successfully.

In all honesty; a recovery ROM is the last option if all other attempts to fix boot up issues fail.

I say last because of the need to strip down a machine and work with the power on during repair.

Yes. Panic gets the better of us. ( So too does the perceived frustration of "oh hear we go again" from the other side )
