Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

i traded an mpc1000 for mpc2000xl, i bought a compact flash full of drum kits and everything. worked on the mpc1000, which it was meant for. the 2xl has a a card reader but doesnt read that the card is there. do i have to reformat it?
any help is apperciated thank you.

Also make sure the samples are 16 bit and 44.1 hz

The MPC2000XL native format is a variation of the microsofts FAT16 format. They are basicly the same. THe FAT32 is not officially supported and is a muche never method. I have not actually myself tried to use a FAT32 formated card in mine. If it works, then great, but the safe bet is to do the FAT16 format instead.
