I bought a 2000xl from the US and it should arrive here in Australia pretty soon. I just assumed I would need a step-down transformer to convert the 240v to 110v, however after reading through all the threads on the subject I'm not so sure.
For every person saying that all 2000xl's are multi-voltage there's someone else saying they aren't, others say it depends on what it says on your mpc itself. I don't have the links but I found one response from akai saying, yes, working from 240v you would need a step-down transformer, another here: http://mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=1 ... 4&start=45 stating: "All AKAI MPC's from the 2000 series are Multi-switchable indeed. The 110V sticker on your unit is probably there because it needs that indication when exported to the US."
Obviously I don't want to use a transformer if it's completely pointless. On the other hand I also don't want to melt my mpc.
I'll need to wait until it arrives to see exactly what it says on the back panel. In the meantime, is there any confirmable answer to this problem?
