Looping on 2000xl, im so confused

So im trying to loop a sample, a bass sample, but when I do the fine looping on the 2000xl all I see are two lines. Im assuming one is the bass sample since its a consistent not, but the other im not sure. Im not even sure of what im trying to accomplish, I just want to get the loop to repeat without any clicks. Also, how would I do the same thing with looping a drum beat? thank you for any help.

When you chop the sample leave a little extra on the tail end. Then set the pad to play mono. Now hit the pad when you want it to start and hit the pad again when you want it to loop. Simple

trim screen to turn the loop on if memory serves me right, params screen for mono/poly/note off.
