HELP!!!....Do you think my zip disk will be okay if......

Hello. I just got my MPC 2000xl with an internal zip drive and it turns out that the internal zip drive was hooked up wrong and is not being detected by my MPC according to AKAI support. But before I found out that the Zip drive was not installed properly I stuck the zip disk into the zip drive and it won't eject out of the drive so I can't get it out until it gets repaired at the service center. I'm not very familiar with Zip disk technology. So my question is will the disk be okay just sitting in the disk drive for a few days until I can get it to the service center..... Thanks

No....It will melt if left for more than 2days without ejecting it

It'l be fine...The reason it wont eject the disk is becasuse there is no power goin to the drive

isnt there a little hidden emergency button to eject?

I'm at work now so I can't really remember, but I think there is a pin hole in the front to emergency eject a disk.

I should have elaborated more...

staraighten out a paperclip and stick it in the hole in the front to eject the disk.

I always just leave the disk in the machine.. Should I take it out when I stop working, or does it really matter?

I have left the disk in also and haven't had a problem.

Yeah I haven't had any problems either.. Just a thought.

It's cool to leave in the MPC because after a while that click it makes is the disk closing and the drive going to sleep, if however the drive doen't go to sleep and the disk stays open there's a chance that dust etc. might get in and damage the disk. Nothing to worry about really, although I always pop it out just in case, those disks are my life!
