Using my MPC2000xl for sequencing with my Motif sound module

I'm trying to use my Motif sound module and use my MPC2000xl as the sequencer using the midi on my E-Mu MK-6 keyboard. I can hear the music on my headphones directly on my Motif rac, but when I try to add the sounds to the sequence on my MPC my keyboard doesn't trigger the sounds anymore... Any ideas?

Not sure your exact issue, but things to double check:

- Motif program set up to receive on particular midi channel...more channels for each instrument.
- mpc tracks in sequence set up to send on the correct midi port (A or B) and corresponding midi channels on the motif.
- there is some further setting regarding the midi input on the mpc being mapped to currently selected track...you want this. try hitting open window on things in the main screen like midi channel... i can't remember exactly (sure it's in the manual though).
- of course good midi cables...they can go bad.
