no sounds

ok fellas i apologize, i'm using floopy disk, the problem just started today when i touched my mpc, i have many floppy disk with sounds and drums up there that i use, when i load them they don't load. I can still make sequences but can't save them. This is very tragic because i was about to work on some tracks for a talent show. Can anyone help?? has anyone ever been in this situation?

are you using an mpc 2000 or the 2000xl?

when you load, are you assigning them to pads?

do you have any speakers/headphones hooked up?

try to be more specific(like breaking down what it is you're doing exactly) and i'm sure someone can help you....triple posting isnt gonna accomplish anything but getting you booted from here........

What do you mean when you say 'they don't load'? What does that mean? In order to help, you have to tell us what is happening in DETAIL. For example,

is there an error message on the screen? If so, what does it say?
Is the floppy drive accepting the disk or is it spitting it out?
What does your MPC say when you try to save a sequence?
Can you read the file directory of your floppy?
Have you tried a new floppy disk?

thanks someone with some sense, first off i have a mpc 2000xl and i use floppy disk. Ok i have multiple disks(floppy) with sounds on them that i want to load, for instance my drum sounds. When i insert the floppy, i press load and you know the light comes on. But when i roll through the screen to see what i've loaded there is nothing. When i hit the pads i get no sound. When i normally do this everything was cool until a few days ago.

Are you just loading a sound? This won't appear on a pad unless you assign it. I don't think I really understand the ?
If you are doing nothing out of the ordinary and it normally works then there's probably something wrong with your drive or disks.

Try pressing trim, see if the sound is there, how long you had the MP?

P.S. Get a zip drive, wise investment

First, you try to load into a PC? If this dont work, clean your floppy drive. And buy a ZIP..!!!!!

watch out for head phones, speakers, mics, transducers, whatever. they will def. corrupt those disks.
GEt A ZIP DRIVE! ahem, sorry to shout but it makes a big difference in the whole mpc process.
