classic mpc 2000 non xl users, your help would be appreciate

ok so i have a classic non xl version mpc 2000 on layaway with daddys junky music. and i'm looking for ways to expand my beat saving options so i hopped on ebay and copped this internal drive

the auction said the drive was "ready" to be installed but from what i read on a few sites the mpc 2000 didnt have an extra bay to hold a scsi hard drive. the guy sellin the drive told me it does. so, if anyone can either confirm or deny or possibly give me any insight possible on what else im gonna need to install this drive ,. id really appreciate it. i apologize for the newb question but please realize i've been doingresearch and havent found any concrete answers . thanks in advance

No, it does not. Even if you could shoehorn it in there, the SCSI connector is external.

but scsi4samplers got a converter...if you`re having skillz in soldering, try this :

yes, there is no internal SCSI but there is a workaround. simply spoken: take a cable thru the back of the 2000 and use the external SCSI port. You can build this cable it by yourself (including soldering) or buy it at ....I think it was SCSI for samplers.

BUT. I dont recommend internal HD on a 2000.

cons:
-all storage space in one device. If the device gets effed up EVERYTHING is gone
-internal HD always is powered on and will rotate = wasting is high
- " " " " = always the noise

There are just two useful medias.

Cardreaders
pro: noiseless, small cards, stable
cons: relative expensive, AFAIK not hot swappable

MO Drives (external. For internal use you would need the extra cable mentioned above)
pro: media can be swapped or take out of the drive to kill noise while makin a beat, still one of the reliable media, IMO useful small storage space per media 128, 230, 540 MB. So if a disk will get demaged you "only" loose 128 or 230 MB of your work

cons:
for some it might be frustrating changing disks to get this or that sample from another disk or take it out to kill the drive noise, relative big medias (3,5 disk 2-3 times thicker than floppy disks).
