mpc floopy drive and left input

hi I got two problems

1 mpc floopy drive is not working and it won't boat up can I boot from an external cd drive

2 no audio throw the left sample input, is this normal

2. it is normal if you have your sampling options set to 'mono right'. if you are confident that is set up properly, then I'd say its a cable or a jack on the other gear, the mpc jacks are pretty good.
