just got an MPC2000, what do i do hahah

whats up guys, one of my friends gave me a MPC2000, for free, this is amazing.

anyways, all i have his the power cord, and im confused as hell. right now, i have a SP404 SX(roland) so im a little bit familiar with sampling, but i have never touched akai before. so i just need some help. if some1 could help me out that would be great.

what plugs do i need and everything? i dont have the manual either, so this is gonna be tricky

and i really confused about the card reader, its some old school stuff, i have a laptop, how am i supposed to get samples on there? lol

some1 needs to break down the steps, just pretend ive never seen one of these in life, thats what its pretty much like hahaha.

whats up with these useless helpme! threads. damn guys, support this site and buy the tutorials that are like right therre -> it will explain everything, the 2000xl tutorial is the one you want. PLus the cr@p @ss manual is free as pdf. Im a noob too but c'mon dude

Haha... yeah but like he said.. he's a noob, so we gotta let that one slide. I like this dude too. Best damn post I've ever read coming from a "noob". But yeah dude... go download that manual, and print it out so you got a hard copy. Otherwise you're gonna get distracted by youtube (or youporn) every time you sit down and attempt to read the pdf.

no im a nobody, im sure I will ask dumb questions too. Im just frustrated with people that jump into stuff and dont read the owners manual.

Look take your time asks ez and to the point questions and everyone here will help believe me I founded out the hard way!!

if you've used a 404 you know the basics of sampling. read the manual (print it out if you got some ink!) to familiarize yourself with the commands (sample, trim, etc) build a workflow. you're gonna love the machine.

Dude somehow found the mpcforums, took time to register and made this hopless thread
instead of downloading the usermanual from the akai website and reading for 10 mins.... what has the world come to.

i just bought a 2500 after having lost my baby(mv8000) 2 years ago,and if people think the mpc is a steep learning curve they batshit...try the roland monster!! i love both machines tho,big ups to the forums!! glad to be on..
