8 outs problem

I just got a mixer and are trying to use the 8 outs I have selected the out at the mixer and and there is no sound coming out of it

You have to set each pad to an output, did you do that? Is that what you mean by 'select the out at the mixer', or are you physically bringing the fader up on the physical mixer? You need to do both.

For the MPC:
You go to the MPC mixer screen, then the 'indiv' tab.

Hit a pad with a sound on it. On the screen, there is a box above the fader for that pad... if you rotate the data wheel in that box you can choose outputs.

Stereo samples will be forced to use a pair of outputs, 1-2/3-4/5-6/7-8, so keep that in mind.

If you already did all that, then it must be an issue with your mixer or how you are plugging stuff in.
