How to arrange a beat, so that parts alternate? MPC 2000

I´m so far recording without usb interface with audio cable to the macbook pro with Logic, exporting (in logic: bouncing) the files to mp3.
I record the songs with the chorus realtime because I couldn´t figure out how to arrange a beat, so that different parts alternate.
The manual is not so simple.
Can you give me a list of the steps?

Other questions: Do you think, that the sound gets better with an audio interface? I thought that maybe the sound is better without audio interface, but I aint got no comparison.
Do you think that there is no big difference as to audio interfaces? I thought that there might be some that harmonize most with the mpc 2000 and hiphop sound.
I think the mpc 2000 sound is best of all mpc´s.
I got the MPC 2000 classic a cable to the macbook pro and a mic inside the macbook.
What mic is good?

thats one way to do it! thats how I would do it.

The other option is, at the simplest:
One sequence for verse, one seq for chorus.
Go into 'song' mode, and create a song using these two seqs...lets say the verse 4 times then the chorus 4 times.
Now, you can leave it as a 'song', or you can use the convert to sequence function. I don't know if the classic has that, but the XL does.

Now you have a sequence that is the whole song...verse seq 4 times then chorus seq 4 times, all in the same seq.

yes, the sound definitely would improve with an audio interface.
yes there are tons of differences between interfaces. akai just made a new one that looks neat its called the "eie i/o".
no, i dont think there is a particular interface that is reputed to 'harmonise' with the mpc or the hip hop sound, but i'm sure in 10 years we will know.
a good mic is a neumann ($$$). a good starter mic is a shure sm-57. you will need a preamp to use one.

you can also mute & un-mute tracks using the pads... might be good for on the go recordings.
