Loading wave files question on MPC2000XL

I recently found a MPC2000xl in a pawn shop for about 39.00 ( yes it works they just did not know what they had) I am not new to sampling but new to the world of akai. My question is this . Whats the deal with loading wave files and the loop is automatically on when you touch the pads? I use MPC editor V3 to create PGM's ( I have a ton of samples ( over 800 gigs) that I want to use on the MPC and I am using this software to assign the sound to the pads. When I load the files (SCSI JAZZ Drive ) and play them, all the pads/sounds are on loop . Now I know I can go into the the menu and turn off the loop on the MPC2000xl for each individual pad, but there has to be something I am not doing right, because doing this for every pad is not making sense and takes to much time.

Sounds like you've got loop points set on your collection of wav files, and the MPC is reading them (didn't know it did that).

Either that or this is something going on with MPC Editor.

You will have to either batch edit your wave files to remove the loops, or turn it off for each individual sample.

Hrm another idea that would be a hack, and would still involve having to manipulate each pad...
Take one sound, set the decay envelop to be from start (though maybe you can't do that with looped sounds....would need to verify). then put a basic fade out on the sound.
Now do an auto-chromatic pgm creation.
Now instead of having to change every sample to loop off, you can just replace each sound.

Obviously, that's a huge hack and would not be optimal. But fitting 800gb into a sampler 32mb at a time is also what I'd classify as a hack.

At least you got options...but they all involve time and work.
Batch editing the wavs would be the simplest.

i think crusher is right, he might have the LOOPY's, wet and drippy
