My 2000xl won't save ?

I recently purchased the 2000xl, and I sucessfully was able to download my mpc 2000 floppies to the 2000xl unit .The problem is I was trying to save data which I downloaded from my 2000 to the 2000xl (my backups) and anytime I try to save the data an error message pops up. Are my floppies corrupt? or discs used to save data from the mpc 2000 will not be able to save in my 2000xl. I use a zip drive as well, will this affect the process of transfering data from my floppies to my zip?

Best thing to do, is try a fresh disk (floppy etc) with fresh sounds
