So you are trying to use your MPC with the JV1080?
I have the XV series, and I don't use my MPC to control the patches. I use the module directly.
How I do it is.. I set the midi device in MPC to midi: 1A, and dial the part knob to one, and push in the value knob until the patch and the performance light is lit on my XV. After that I can choose whatever sound/patches I want to use. You do the same for the 2nd part.
