Adjust the tuning til it sounds right.

If you are doing an auto-chromatic program keep in mind that the tuning it applies does not cover all the pads...

If you set it with pad C1 as the base note, all the notes below A8 and above D9 (I believe) will be the same pitch. Don't quote me on those exact values, but that's the area.

For what you are talking about though, pitch is totally unrelated to 'pad'...it can be set to whatever you like and sounds good. So just tweak it.

EDIT: Forgive me if you meant a 2000 classic I am not sure that even does auto-chromatic. You should still be able to micro-tune it to sound better.
