Hello Guys, here i am in the Holy Bible (for me) of threads.
So, sorry if it's a long post, but i want to check any details i know and i learned in this tread.
I have my MPC2000xl with OS 1.20 and Just floppy drive installed on It.
After Reading all the pages of this thread i think the best option for me to upgrade It to something more modern is to buy this Guy:
https://store.rabbitholecomputing.com/Z ... 1&CartID=0But i want to be sure i'll be doing everything right, so here are my questions:
Ordering It i should as well add the 6'' IDC50F to IDC50F SCSI ribbon cable right? (I know i can buy It from other places). 90% Sure this Will fit on internal SCSI port on 2000xl.
I should add also the 3.5" plastic bracket, Is this the right size? I don't wanna it to dance whenever i move my 2000xl.
It's not necessary to have a Power cable as well, since the SCSI ribbon one should bus enough power to the driver itself, right?
To install it the process must be: taking out the floppy drive, replacing it with the ZuluSCSI and connect It via ribbon cable only, to the internal SCSI port? If so, Is It difficult or risky? I've seen the internal SCSI port Is not located in a Happy Place.
Will i Need to drill the Bracket to screw It stable inside the 2000xl case?
How i set the configurations of the drive, once it's installed? Can i connect it to my laptop (Windows) via USB and do It right away?
What kind of sd card Is most probably working on this drive from your experience?
Is all this hot-swappable?
What are the odds, if i do everything correct, all of this thing Will work without problems?
Ok, i'm done with questions, Sorry if i'm asking too much but any help Will be really appreciated. Cheers!
Oh, last One, not very important: what do you think about this external One? Overpriced?
