CF card reader for MPC 2000 how do i fit it??

After ordering a CF card reader from Conrad electronics via a link here i find its 40 or 44 pin male.
The cable that was attached to the floppy inside my MPC2000 is 34pin female.

How do i attached it?!

It would help if you included the link. Then we'll know what you are talking about.

It does not help to post the same thing 3-4 times in every thread you think might be related to your issue.

My first guess is you bought the wrong thing, but without a link, nobody knows.

It's been a long time since I did this, but I think the card reader plugs into a spot different than the floppy, the ide spot.

I don't think the 2000 classic has this, only the XL.

You can't.

Floppy drives are not IDE drives. You cannot make an IDE card reader work in a MPC2000. It will work in a MPC 2000XL since it has an internal IDE connector.
