Sound module, controller (eps 16+), and mpc 2000

So my I have this eps 16+ that my brother is letting me have because hes upgrading. What i want to do is probably the most obvious. I have a triton rack and want to play the notes with my eps (using it as a controller) and use the mpc to record/sequence. I tried a number of ways of connecting it but nothing is recording. I'm obviously doing something wrong because i assume theres one way of doing it that i haven't done yet. What are the midi connections? If I need to explain further let me know but I'm sure a lot of you get it.

handshake with the triton rack and out on the keyboard (eps) to an in on the mpc no........?

Alright this is what i have. I have the triton midi in to the eps midi out (it plays the notes just fine). and theres no other out on the eps. i have an in and a thru open on the eps.

MIDI out from the controller to MPC MIDI in. MPC MIDI out to racks MIDI in.

Or you can..connect the midi out and midi in of the EPS to the midi in and midi out (A) of the MPC respectively, and then connect the midi thru of the EPS to the midi in of the Triton module. I have my MPC, EPS, and S900 connected this way. I have the EPS set to communicate with the mpc on channels 1 thru 8, and the S900 gets its midi on channel 9.
