chinese purchase sd card reader IC no. KTC- FC1306T chip
Support PC Card ATA, Compact Flash and true IDE interface.
Automatic sensing of PC Card ATA or true IDE host interface.
PIO, Multi-word DMA and Ultra DMA Host Data transfer Support.
ATAPI Interface (SSF-8020i and SFF-8070i)
pros:
read and write to card on windows/linux etc
no need to select master or slave
formatted and reads all the below cards (FAT Partition)
Kingston 2GB microSD with adaptor
Sandisk 4GB SDHC
Sandisk 8GB SDHC
cons:
not hot-swappable
mpc will only format cards to a 1GB partition (leaving remaining card intact)
After testing sd cards seems to work best with sandisk cards
still causes data corruption of fat table this can be fixed with right software
so if you see a card reader with KTC- FC1306T chip on it dont bother
it only costs 10 pounds to buy but still causes problems
try buying a compact flash card reader they seem to be the best as
the compact flash cards have an in-build true ide IC.
just search ebay for card readers hot swappable now available for 50 pounds
