where did you heard/read this ? A blown scsi fuse is a blown scsi fuse and will avoid that anything happen on the scsi port of the mpc. No matter what external drive you connect.

A blown scsi fuse is a blown scsi fuse and will avoid that anything happen on the scsi port of the mpc. No matter what external drive you connect.

if the scsi port fuse is blown then any external drive (termination or not) will not be seen by your mpc. if your scsi port fuse is blown, then you will just have to get this fixed.

yeah, they need to be more clear about that statement. i think they are confusing because the scsi port fuse is different from the active power termination fuse. in all cases, the external scsi port must be in working order to see anything and then you will be able to see if you have a termination problem on your mpc. assuming the drive you bought is working, the mpc should see it. if not, then the port is not working (blown scsi port fuse). just to check, try connecting a scsi zip drive (with a zip disk) or a scsi hard drive and see if it is recognized.
