How to use the 8out expansion board/recordingmultiple tracks

Hi everyone,
I just got an 8 out expansion board and was wondering how to assign tracks to each individual output. I usually record my snares on one track, kick on another, etc and want to be able to record each track separately onto my computer (using cool edit pro). I currently just solo each track and record each track individually onto my computer. This can be time consuming because 1)I have to record each track separately 2) I then have to sync all the tracks on Cool Edit Pro by moving them around until they sound right. Any tips/help on how to assign individual tracks to the 8-outs and also how to sync up Cool Edit Pro with my MPC would be greatly appreciated.

Please refer to your MPC manual.

press SHIFT & 7 ( = MIXER )
press F2 ( = INDIV )
choose a pad with the sound you want to assign
press OPEN WINDOW

There you are.... "Out" is where you scroll through the outputs. Stereo samples will list two adjacent outputs, mono samples just one.

You are doing this to a sound that has been assigned to a pad in a program......it is an extension of making that program.

Cool Edit Pro..... I haven't actually used it but isn't it just a recording & editing program? If it doesn't send & receive midi or SMPTE you cannot sync it with the MPC. If it can record multiple tracks at once & you've got multiple inputs on your soundcard you could record from your MPC's new multiple outputs & everything would be lined up.

anyone have instructions for installing the 8 o/p board?

I've tried searching old posts but it only displays the first 10 or so posts. and yes I have tinkered with the search options

Didn't you get a sheet of instructions with the board? I did with mine but I'm afraid I don't still have them. Have you tried the Akai website? http://www.akaipro.com/, or the website of German company Mutec who make their own version of the 8 output board.http://www.mutec-net.de/

Well I'm buying one from a second hand web site, and the bloke selling it, is being bloody awkward by not saying wether its used or brand new!

But having done a little research it seems fairly self explanatory.

I'll check the Mutec site out though
