Hi mpc forum! Everytime i work on the mpc and I try to save the program file it says, 'disk read error'
I have tried everything that I possibly could imagine caused the problem. I Reinstalled the os, took it all apart and putted it together again, still same 'disk read error'.. Also, I have no wav. files on the cf card, and its almost empty for files .. My question is now, should i sell th 2000xl and maybe buy a 2500 instead? is this normal behavior for the 2500 too? have any of you swapped and did you regret? Thx

I've encountered similar problem twice. In my case, XL stopped recongnize CF card on boot up. Both of time, the CF card was perfectly readable on PC.
This is what I did:

I copied all the data to PC, then reformatted the CF card on PC.
then boot XL with the reformatted CF card (XL would recognize the card again)
then reformat the CF card on the XL (this step may not be necessary, but just in case)
turn off the XL, connect CF card on PC, copy the data back to CF card

The second time it happened to me (actually it happened last week!) I lost all the important data, because I used long name (longer than 8 chars before ".") Although the card was readable on PC, I could not copy all the data because of it.
My advice, never, never use more than 8 chars for file names on MPC-2000XL!
