Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

So I saved some sounds from the internet onto a floppy disk and have been playing them on the MPC with no problems. I sampled some songs from itunes into the akai and saved them, along with a program onto this disk. The MPC will load the program and sounds just fine after multiple uses and turning the MPC on and off. But after a few days, the disk is suddenly corrupted. When I go to load the samples, there are no files available to be loaded. And the type of memory reads: "type-???????". Has anybody heard of this problem? I have had the same results three times after going and resaving the samples onto a different disk. HELP!!!

You say that you have tried different floppy disks but are all the ones you have old? You might want to invest in a new pack of disks.

If that doesn't solve it, it could be a bad floppy drive. If you are in the US, I can send you a replacement floppy drive to try out. If it solves the problem, you can keep it but if it doesn't, you can return it and get your deposit back. Email me directly if you want to try this - the email address is on the website.
