2000xl for $200

i already have a 1000 wit the pad upgrade and runnin jjos but i jus came across the opportunity to possibly get a 2000xl for only $200

i love my 1000 it does everything i want it to do but i really feel like i cant pass up on this classic and if i can use them in combination with one another somehow that would be (i really hate this word but...) epic

any input would help. my setup is fine as is but i always wanted to get my hands on a 2000xl


sidenote: i dont mixdown my beats using software. I jus run the 2 track from the mpc1000 thru my sp-404. i prefer the gritty loose sound i get doing it that way

A working XL for $200? What do you need help with? Buy it right now and start using it.

even if you use the xl the same way, just stereo outs, you've now got double the sounds you once had.

yer going to love the way the xl works, even though it will be missing a lot of sound editing features found on the 1k.

yeah but havin the best of both worlds would make up for any short comings im sure

i jus gotta get my hands on a CF card reader for the xl asap so i can jus switch cards between them easily

If it's within your budget, then definitely get it. I started on the 1000, then got a 2500... had a few others... and eventually picked up a 2000 xl, and more recently a 2000. I love the 2000 series! Use it all the time, and haven't regretted the purchase for a second.

In short, my opinion: it's completely justifiable to own both machines... unless you got kids that haven't eaten for a few days or something. Get it dude, before someone else does!

if the seller doesn't have a rape-kit near by, i'd go for it

make sure the screen do not have lines or dead pixels... that price for an XL it sounds like it does...

dude you hit it right on the head

i picked it up yesterday and the screen does have lines in it but its only like 2 or 3 lines and doesnt really get in the way that much

other than that it works like a charm though only thing is its a zip drive so all i have access to is the stock sounds and im in the process of moving so my turntable is already boxed up so im really not gonna be able to sample in this thing for another couple weeks
