'disk write error'

Sup y'all

this evening, when I was saving a single sample, disk write error has appeard. It was first time it's happened to me, so I'm a bit worried. I did renamed a sound - for about 30 sec. long - and tried to save it in a directory named the same asn sample. Then I saw this error. After re-powering up an MPC I've recorded it once again, named it the same way, as earlier, and still an error. During third try I kept original sound's name (sound1) and then it went soft, without any problems, but when I renamed it to the same name, as before, error window appeared again. I know I shouldn't be pissed of for that, but I don't like, when my gear is going to give any problems, especially when before everything was ok. Maybe it's because of the zip disc has fall on the floor a few weeks ago, but since this time everything was great - no read or saving errors. Right now I'm creating a backup of all data from this zip on another one, but I'm curious about this issue.
Do you think the problem is a broken zip, or maybe a drive is going to break down? Has anybody ever problems with an internal zip drive?

Stop using zip disks as soon as you can. That's your best bet.

yeah, I'm considering switching on memory cards as a good idea from some time. Only thing, that made me stuck to zip discs is price of and IDE reader. I'm living in Poland, that's so buying it from mpc stuff isn't a good idea (shipping, USD's price->readers price). I have heard, that it's quite easy to find fine working no-name reader at computer/electronic stores or eventually DIY it, but I don't know any technical details. Could you guys tell me what conditions should be saved to make this shit work?

and uhmm...I knwo that my english is a bit far from perfect, but I haven't slept this night and only thing which makes me still walking is coffee that's so forgive me, if my sentences are ununderstandable.

Memory cards are great however I have experienced disk write errors and disk read errors.

Check your cables or format the card from the mpc menu.That worked for me.
