Sell my mpc 2000?

So, i've been makin my beats with the first mpc i got (2000 Classic), and i love it to death. the track muting and the way the machine works etc, i know it BETTER than the back of my hand and ive bonded with it. but since ive been into this stuff ive wanted a 60II .. the sound, the look of it, even the limitations, its been my dreamgirl forever n im always checkin ebayn craigslist for one even tho i dont have the money for it lol

for the longest time i said id never sell my 2K and if anything one day id have both, someone once told me to never give away any gear and after the years id have tonnss of sh!t to work with. ive come to a point where im just tired of waiting tho. since i got my mpc i fixed the pads, added the 8 outs, put a mint new screen, and it already had full memory so this thing is jsut about fully blown and i could even make a profit off of it, but im a little hesitant about parting ways with it

what do u guys think about selling gear? shud i sell my baby or just get am MPC 60 jar and save?

it would be ridiculous to sell your 2000 after youve put money into and mastered the machine. just be patient and you can get whatever you want in time.

Nowadays you are not going to make any profit of your 2K, I bought a 2K classic with max ram and 8 outs, perfect screen for $200 about two months ago on Ebay... MPCs are mad cheap now specially the 2K classic and the XL, max money that you can get for your 2K classic could be something around $300, so I don't think you could buy a 60 with that... I would suggest to save and wait til the right one comes to you...

get an s950, combined with the 2000. imo -it offers more than a 60 II on it's own.

the 60 is great, but dont sell your work horse for one. in your price range you wont be getting the scsi expansion and the os 3.10... so you will be stuck with a machine that doesn't get the job done as quickly as you are used to... plus you will need to start chopping precisely because they dont have pads muting other pads... etc.

the 60 is an awesome machine and great to work on... but keep that 2000. you wont be gaining... gaining would be to save yourself 400 bucks and grabbing a mint 60ii...

man, i got a 2000 classic that looks almost unused (no joke.. it looks like it's been out the box for a week) for $230 including shipping... the machine came with the smpte expansion, the ram, the 8 outs, and the eb16... mint screen and all sensors are new and equal (ie: pad one is the same as pad 16) I got mine cheap because the seller didn't know you needed the boot disk... he thought it was busted. But even so, 2000 classics have been cheap as dirt lately...

s950s are expensive now... the same price as an mpc60 in most cases... however you could get an s900 for under 100 bucks... that unit is great but not as great as the 60.

yeahhh yo i agree with all of you, i pretty much decided not to earlier today u guys just said what i was thinkin. it wud be kinda silly. i just have a huge mpc60 boner LOL! and yeah no doubt im waitin for one with 3.10 OS and hopefully the memory upgrade i wudnt get it with the old OS. most of all tho i know id regret it, even if i got the 60 i wanted id just miss my darlin

oh really? well here s950's I have seen actually closing with bids at almost 400 bucks on ebay... (actually people bidding them that high) where as I rarely see s900's on ebay yet you often see them floating around for like 80-100 bucks. Honestly, they sound the same the two units and I aint doing anything major with those old machines besides use them for the sound (and the bass tone patch) so I dont need many features beyond truncating and sampling right? It's sort of like a second memory expansion off the 60 haha.


one guy here locally must be out of his damn mind because he has been trying to sell his s1000 for months now... guess what though, $320 for the machine basically stock (ie: he takes all exspansions out) or with the ram and 8 outs it is $420. The dude reposts several times a week with no budge on his pricing.. dude is waiting for a sucker for sure.
