Help please! I'm a veteran MPC user and I've been through the ringer having solved multiple issues with my MPC 2000 over the years, but I'm officially stuck on this one. I'm pretty certain my floppy ribbon is shot seeing as I've tried installing my PC's old floppy drive and it still didn't work, but I should still be able to boot from ZIP regardless, so please someone tell me what I'm doing wrong and what I can do to fire up my MP....
I turn on my MPC and the screen reads "MPC boot ROM v1.00". However, after this I don't get prompted with "Insert MPC 2000 disc" like I used to. Instead, it goes immediately to "Disc read error!!". The floppy drive clicks initially, but after the first click it makes no more sound. I have MANY boot discs.....I tried them all.....I even formatted brand new floppy's on my PC (FAT 16) and downloaded 1.72 (sys & exe) onto them and tried those......still nothing. Lastly, I tried downloading 1.72 onto a ZIP disc seeing as I use ZIP to save and load sounds, just never to boot from. I have both switches in the down position so that SCSI 5 is recognized and Termination is enabled, however, even with both switches down, the disc in the drive, and the drive powered on, my MPC doesn't cycle and recognize the drive. I still just get "Disc read error!!" after the initial "MPC boot ROM v1.00". Anyone know what's up with my machine??? And better yet, what I can do to fix it?!?!?!

dont quote me on this but i think the mpc 2000 only uses specifc floppy drives so maby the one from ur old comp isnt compatible??? and as far as the scsi problem it definitly sounds like the zip drive bit the dust ,,,
