what type off ram does the MPC 2000 take ? DDR SD ?

its basically generic 72 pin memory that works best from what i can tell. nothing fancy.

you can install it yourself its not hard. use the owners manual to figure out how to access the insides (its different if you have an XL or not). the only wierd thing is they have this little swivel jawn because of space limitations - you have to insert the stic at a 45 degree angle and then rotate it up and it clicks in. make sure its straight up and down and all the connections are good.

to test whether its worked put the mpc back together as little as possible, turn it on, and hit shift+4 then open window. it'll show you what you got installed.

Use a antistatic wrist strap to discharge yourself before putting the memory in.
I ruined a stick of memory by getting zapped from static.
