I'm presuming you've got the 8 analog outs & digital in/out board fitted. To be honest you'll be able to do better things using the multi analog outs going to the MOTU's analog inputs. The MPC's digital out is a mixed stereo out, but obviously slightly better quality being digital.

The MPC's digital input is useful for sampling. You could have a digital out from Logic via the MOTU going to the MPC, or a digital out from a good CD player.

Hey, thanks for reply. Yeah, I have the 8 outs. It's just for back up.
Some of my old zip disks are almost dead and I want to get rid of them.

It's not that different to the normal output. You'll need a digital cable. You can use a normal rca phonolead to see if it works, but the quality will not be good enough to backup your samples.
There's an RCA on the back of the 8-out labeled s/pdif digital out. Your MOTU should have an RCA as well labeled something like s/pdif input.
just connect a single cable between the two and select the digital input in Logic.
Make sure you don't set your soundcard to a samplerate other than 44.1, cause thats the only thing the mpc outputs. You can still record 24 bit in Logic if you want to.

Have you ever used the CDxtract?
Does it works with mpc2000 formated zip disks?

Mac OS X / OS 9??
