I read alot of threads that deal with the internal workings of the mpc...i get lost at times when reading the technical jargon that goes on. This leaves me feeling like I have not used my mpc to the fullest. I recently realized that I want to straight up MASTER my mpc. That said, I have my manual out regulary and as mentioned in another thread i am going to refurb my 2000xl. i just found out about a product that cleans the contacts (my 8 outs has static in 5/6) also i want to replace all of the small things like my power button, led light covers etc. I simply want to get it as close to mint as possible. I don't wan't or rather think i need the effects card, but I think i may have to upgrade the memory. I currently have a cf card reader that is great...i am able to use 4gb cards with no problems.....is there anything else out there i need to look at doing to ensure I get the most out of this legendary beast of a machine? Is VST the only place that will refurbish an mpc (im in philly). How do i "test" my machine to ensure all parts are working as they should? Is there a site that covers all there is to know about the 200xl with little diggin and sifting thru opinion? these are the type of questions im looking to answer. keep in mind i almost bought a maschine to speed up my work flow but it felt like I would have to either divorce or cheat on my "soulmate" the mpc lol. sorry for the long post and thanks in advance.
