Effects without eb-16?

Hey, guys!

Can i add effects (such echo, reverb) on 2kxl without the eb-16?

You can add them externally eg. from your mixing desk.
But mpc2000xl does not enable you to send and return effects and without the eb16 has no effects internally.

The EB16 was optional for the S3000, not standard. However, it's true, you can be lucky and find an S3000 with the EB16 card installed already.

Really?

The menu on one I picked up last week has fx options
There is no fx in there tho when I opened her up

It depends which model you get, the S3000i has internal effects i believe. The S3000XL doesn't for example, but sometimes has the optional EB16 installed.

Correct me if i'm wrong please... :D

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the S3000 menu has the effects present even if the board is not in it. It's just that you cannot load them without it :wink:

Sample a snare with a long reverb tail. Truncate the actual snare out of it, so it's just the verb. Then layer with another snare. You have to find a good match, and pitch them just right, but you can make it work.

The s3000 does have built in fx!
The s3000 does not have the capacity to have the eb16 option

As i said, there's a difference between the models from the 3000 series. You're probably talking about the S3000, while i was talking about the S3000XL, which can be expanded with the EB16.
