Cubase 5 Midi Sync'd Record Question

Hi guys,

I'm having a problem setting up cubase, I've got it synced as a slave to my MPC2000xl and I want it to record when I press start on the MPC.

As soon as press record the system starts, but I want it to only start the record when I press start on the master unit (MPC) this way I'll get an exact recording.. Rather than having to press start on the mpc then press record on cubase..

How do I do I change the way cubase starts recording?!

Two things to verify:

1) Your slave settings in cubase should be optimized. Im at work so can't say exactly but there should be a small box to the right of the track count with 3 stacks of info. The bottom most one , you need to CTRL+Left CLICK and you'll get a options menu for midi sync options. Make sure you're set there (MTC vs Timecode, lock frames, activate slave functionality)

2) In that same bottom most info box that says "Idle" or "Sync" click it to make sure it says "

Verification:
Now with the MPC as the master, and cubase 5 as the slave, if you hit record on cubase, Record will activate in idle mode meaning that it's waiting for you to press play on the master (MPC 2000xl).

I'm assuming you have the MPC 2000xl midi settings configured and you know about using MTC or Timecode.

Also, it would hurt you to record a 4 bar track with just clicks in cubase 1st then "next sequence" switch to the actual recording sequence. Cubase with an MPC is friendly, it's just picky about how to be friends with.
