mpc 2000 freeze

hello, im having a disfunction with my mpc 2000..sometimes i'll be doing a project on it and it'll all of a sudden freeze up and a whole list of numbers will pop up..it looks something like this

AX:003
BX:187
CX:237
DX:18A0

and so on. i then have to power it off and start all over again.im running v1.72...does anybody know what this problem is?

I suggest you do the following:

at the main screen, press shift+7 (mixer) and then press OPEN WINDOW, then press shift+0 .... then run the memory test.

If everything runs okay, maybe you could do some of the other tests, see if that comes up with any errors. If everything is okay, maybe open up the machine and make sure every connector is properly connected (including the ram, the drive(s), and ribbon cables) by removing the said cables and reconnecting them.. sometimes things slip loose over time due to vibration, expansion and contraction, and what ever else..
