MPC2000 XL Freaky issues after MCD Install

Hi Everyone,

Really would appreciate the help with this as I have been trying to work it out for 6 hours and it seems to be getting worse..

So today my MCD drive kit arrived from MPC stuff as well as fat pads..

My OS was 1.14 so I upgraded it to version 1.2 using a floppy disk with the OS on it that also from MPCstuff.com. After it rebooted I confirmed there was no issues and that the OS did say the new version number..

SO then I take off the bottom cover and install the drive first, it came with new cables. IT went in rather painlessly so then i installed the pads which was even less painless..

I turned it on and it worked right away, I was super impressed with the sensitivity of the new pads and not having to use floppys.. this lasted about 2 hours.

the 16 level button stopped working so i removed the case to see if any dust or anything was jammed etc but strangly enough as soon as i removed the case and then tried it (without the case on) it worked with no issues, as soon as the case was screwed back on... it did not work again... after playing around with it for a while, i found that if i didnt screw the top lid on tight, it worked for some reason... not the best but it worked.. then more issues started happening............ now whenever i hit the top cursor button it starts record/play or both.. also now when i hit the open window button it seems to select random buttons.. cant try reflashing the OS now cause i cant navigate the menus or open windows etc...


Anyone had any issues like this before? it seems really quite unusual...

Any advise on what i should do? I am thinking i may need this looked at now...

on the panel where the tact switches for the buttons are.. make sure the plastic buttons are on properly and straight also... make sure nothing is spilled on the electrical board and that it is clean.. no dust or anything like that.
