mpc data jog wheel problem

My sorry ass brother took my mpc without asking dumped red wine all over it and didnt even attempt to clean it up...now after several years of saving money to buy several replacment parts Ive got it up and running except the jog wheel!!!
apparently he just let the wine sit on it till it dried completly fusing the outer ring to the inner i tried cutting them apart with an exacto knife...with no luck!
Please tell me i can remove the wheel to try to fix this without having to replace it! im afraid to try topull it off cuz i cant find any info on how it works or its assembaly!

Dont know if I understand the problem. The inner and outer wheel are stuck together?? Stuck on the MPC (you can't get the plastic off of the actual encoder?)

yeah thr bottom picture thoses two pieces are stuck together i cant spin the inside wheel it just turns the jog! and by the looks of your diagram i can just pull that whole knob off then try to seperate them....correct?

and i think he must actually super glued them together cuz there fused beyond beliefe!!!

lay it in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes.
