MPC 2000XL w/ BCR2000

Would there be anyway to assign button functions on the BCR2000 to be capable of track muting on a standard, non-modified MPC 2000XL?

I work off Ableton but I'm very interested in purchasing a MPC2KXL. I've been using a BCR2000 as my control surface for a long time now, and would be very if I couldn't use it anymore (primarily for the track muting I've enabled it to do in Ableton).

as far as I know, no way. pre midi assign by click era....start/stop/rec/overdub and midi note recording into a track, should be all...
