Won't get past the insert disc

My 2000 won't get past the insert disc screen even withy the disc
Anyone know what's this problem?

are we talking about a floppy disk or a zip disk (if it is a zip disk, what model is it (serial number)

have you ever had that disk working?

When you download the OS from the akai website, you must unpack the zip/rar compressed file and drag the contents onto the disk.. it must be right on the root of the disk, not in a folder.

also, make sure if it is a floppy that it is formatted to FAT (fat 12.. if you have other options like on linux or what ever.. dont pick those)
