MPC LCD Screen Saver Mod

just thought i would post this link.. some guy on ebay is selling this mod info to prolong lcd lifespan. anyone who buys it post it on the board for the rest of us :P

don't know whether there really is something that you could do to modify your mpc safely.. worth a try i suppose. wonder what he is using.. any ideas?

Makes me wonder what the hell did he do? When I find the time, I'm going to install a mercury switch in my 2KXL screen. That way the light will stay off when it's in the screen is in the down position and come on when you raise it up. I just gotta tinker with it. It should be easy.

man that is tempting. i have no idea on how to solder but im thinkin bout coppin it and having someone put it in. hmmmmmmm

It is a rather tempting prospect for true longevity out of the machine...but I need some testimony. I gotta see it to believe it.

If someone bought it im sure they could handle it at Forat, they can replace screens so I would think they could do it.

Good point. I wonder if Forat is aware of the modification.
