trouble with cubase and mpc

hey peeps,
i've got my mpc 2000 synced with cubase sx2,
i have the mpc as the master and cubase as a slave , when i play a virtual synth on cubase which is set to midi channel 1 on the mpc that's cool, the only problem is when i play another virtual instrument on midi channel 2, the midi channel 1 sound then changes to the same virtual instrument on midi channel 2, same goes if i make next virtual instrument on midi channel 3, both channel 1 and 2 sound will be the same instrument as om midi 3.
its very frustrating don't know if i got its setup wrong on the mpc or cubase. any help would be helpful

Might have to set up some sort of multi in cubase...otherwise you won't be able to play more than one patch at a time...Make sure the soft synth is multi-timbral
