Resampling recordings and mp3. DI needed?

Hey yall I got a 3k and 1K and was a Record fanatic,still am. But I was curious about sampling MP3s and other self made live recordings like guitar and rhodes ect from my PC. But do I come straight out of my sound card into the PC or do I need a DI box. Does the MPC want to see Line level?

well that's what it averages out to - better than posting in both places

I suggest not sampling mp3's in any case. If you make your own recordings to sample they should probably be wav?
