2000XL buttons flush with faceplate, bent faceplate?

Hey all, recently I removed the faceplate and added new pads. I took care in removing everything. I installed the faceplate and tightened all the screws and now some of the buttons especially the F buttons and track mute next seq are almost flush with the faceplate and don't stick up as much as they did.

This feels kind of weird like this. The pads themselves are the same height. I'm pretty sure nothing is stuck under it.

Has this happened to anyone else before?

Yo, I'm resurrecting this post as my XL did the exact same thing after I added my FX board.
Anyone else have this this issue? It's weird as obviously the screw are all in the exact same places etc...

yep it's warped from the removal of it.
