zip drive question

hey every one, im having a problem trying to get my zips to work. i have a 2000xl with a 100mb internal zip drive that came from the store brand new when i bought it, it stopped reading the discs, i have tried 3 other working zip drives, 1 250mb and 2 100mb drives, all 3 internal, none of them work they all power up read the disc, then never stop reading, or just say no floppy connected , but the original zip reads as atapi, not floppy. its never had a floppy. the only drive that actual does anything out of the 4 is the original "broken" one. can someone clue me in on how to get any of these to read my discs ? or tell me what specific drive i need ? any help would be awesome..

make sure the jumper on the back of the zip drive is set to master.
