Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Yo I've just borrowed an mpc 2000. I wanted to transfer some data from my pc onto the mpc, and I'm facing some problems. Should my Pc see the zip 250 usb disk as a "portable device" ? cause I've got only the power supply cable and the usb one, and I see there is one more big slot in the zip 250 disk, would it work without this "big" cable? or do I need it in order to transfer the data? I don't know if the zip disk is broken, or is the lack of that cable the problem?
I have no contact with my friend who lent me the mpc:) Please be understanding :) Peace

It should appear on your PC under "Devices with removable storage", but probably not until you put a zip disk in the drive.
I have no idea what your extra big slot is unless its the one where you put the zip disk? j/k ;-)

Have you put a zip disk in?

Maybe you could take a photo of the drive for us, showing the mysterious slot ?

yeah I put the disk in. It's probably the fault of the zip drive, It responds only occasionally I try to turn it of and on and I can see that something's wrong with it...

If you have one, try a different USB cord. Maybe a different disk.
Sometimes a PC will take a minute or two to recognise a drive first time, while it searches for drivers.
