Hey. I've seen this touched upon but I'm not confident about the responses. I really love the pads and I do have an asr-10 as well but I just got curious about using a contoller with the mpc.
Apparently 16 levels can not be automatically mapped to the keyboard. But When you auto-chromatically assign the sound to all the notes in a program. Then you're stuck figuring out which two pads each pad cuts off while you really want all to cut all off. That's what I mean by a global Mono.
I realized you can set them to Note-Off but that seems like quite a pain whenever you want to play a sample on the keyboard. After all that configuring I feel I'd be just as happy to play it on the pads. Like the keyboard was supposed to allow a streamlining of this function.
Maybe I should sanction all melodic-style tracks to ASR or straight to DAW but I liked the idea of having everything inside box (the outboard "box", that is).
So question would be: Do you like using a keyboard with your MPC and, if so, for what purpose?
Thanks.
