Getting WAV files from Macbook Pro onto MPC 2000xl (using ZI

I've recently purchased a 2000xl and as you can guess, I'm not sleeping very much now that I've got one in my life.
The only real issue I've been faced with is getting samples that are stored on my macbook pro onto ZIP and/or floppy to be loaded into my MPC.
Could anyone suggest any options? I've looked into SCSI to USB adapters to connect one of my outboard ZIP drives to the laptop but I'm sceptical and they're very pricey for a piece of cable...

Any help would be much appreciated

first of all, do yourself a favour and get rid of the zip drive... they are unreliable and guaranteed to fail (google search "click of death")

second of all... for some reason.. I dont know what it is... these days people seem to ignore the fact that the mpc is a sampler... they are MADE FOR SAMPLING... so sample with it. plug a line out from your computer and record the sample through the mpc's record inputs. Done! no converting files... no transfering... no zip disks.... you save time, because while you audition your samples your could be recording them all at the same time.

The other thing is... mpcs colour the sound... as we all know. The main part of this colouring happens during the sampling process....

As for sampling, I spend all day cutting up records but the fact remains that I've got hundreds of samples that I put good time into that I need to load onto the MPC... So, if you know of a way, please share.

I use floppy myself but I would recommend and I'm sure others would as well, investing in an interal or external CF card reader which would allow you to store lots of samples and files but still have the ability to transfter between the computer & the mpc. To be even more specifc I would advise in getting one that's hot swappable for even more flexibility. I personally consider Zip to be a joke to the point that sometimes it feels like there's a little person in zip disks that's sole purpose is to **** with you.

well to get started.. they sell cheap compact flash to IDE adapters... they can be as cheap as 99 cents with free shipping. you then can grab a compactflash card.

now yes... you could "load" samples from your computer... if you absolutely REFUSE to use the mpc's record in feature.... or you can play those sounds saved on your computer while recording them into the mpc (ie: running your computer into your mpc) .. you can EQ sounds before recording them too... just a thought.

in terms with CF cards i am using a Sandisk 1GB card and it works great.
